  • Mark-up Pricing

The difference between the cost of a product or service and its selling price is called markup.

dollar markup= retail price – cost of merchandise

This can also be calculated as a percentage

% of retail price markup= dollar markup / retail price

A firm may decide to do a standard markup percentage on all products, or it may have different markups for different groups.
